you remind me of a very young scooby-doo: Kokubun Taichi becomes a member of Sexy Zone!?

basil-ovelby:

On the 19th, TOKIO’s Kokubun Taichi (37) attended the Japanese Olympic volleyball preliminaries at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Sendagaya. As the Fuji Television sportscaster for this year’s Olympics, he joined up for the first time with special supporters for the event, five-member-group…

Translation - Names in TOKIO

basil-ovelby:

(translated this off a site because I found it interesting - I’ve always thought Japanese names and the honorifics and customs behind them are so fascinating~ so I love looking into what all the members call each other :D)

(I also found the thing about KinKi’s explanation of ‘kun’ and ‘san’ in Johnny’s to be really interesting)

“Here I’ve put together a list of what the five of them call each other. They mostly fit, though there will obviously be some exceptions. As was once previously mentioned by Kinki Kids, throughout Johnny’s, “kun” really refers to “san”, and “san” really refers to “sama”.

Joshima Shigeru <- Yamaguchi: originally “Shigeru-kun”, now “Shige”, “Shige-chan”, “Shige-san”

                   <- Taichi: “Shigeru-kun”, “Leader”

                   <- Matsuoka: “Shigeru-kun”, “Leader”

                   <- Nagase: “Shigeru-kun”, “Leader”

Yamaguchi Tatsuya <- Joshima: “Yamaguchi”, “Tatsuya”, “Gussan”

                      <- Taichi: “Yamaguchi-kun”

                      <- Matsuoka: “Anii”

                      <- Nagase: “Yamaguchi-kun”, “Gussan”

Kokubun Taichi <- Joshima: “Taichi”

                  <- Yamaguchi: “Taichi”

                  <- Matsuoka: “Taichi-kun”

                  <- Nagase: “Taichi-kun”

Matsuoka Masahiro <- Joshima: “Matsuoka”

                      <- Yamaguchi: “Matsuoka”

                      <- Taichi: “Matsuoka”

                      <- Nagase: “Matsuoka-kun”, “Mabo”

Nagase Tomoya <- All: “Nagase”

As an extra point, Nagase generally speaks with the three eldest using more respectful Japanese.

Also, Mabo has a tendency to add “nii” and “nee” to many of his older friends’ names (examples: Chin-nii (Mister Chin), Yuu-nee (Kotegawa Yuuko)), and he also gets called Matsu-nii by many of the younger kouhai.  This is probably due to him growing up an only child and having longed to have brothers and sisters.”

Very interesting :D

Ah Mabo!<3 If I were Japanese I would do the same, I’m an only child too ^_^
